Required
This form is not optional. It is a condition of participation in Her Climb.
Part of what Her Climb promises every scholar is advocacy — sitting with counselors about course placement, checking that graduation credits are on track, and stepping in early when something is going wrong. Federal law does not let a school discuss any of that with us unless a parent or guardian says so in writing.
This letter is that permission. Without it we cannot advocate for you at your school.
{{ ferpa.doneLine }}
This letter is addressed to your principal at your school, so we need their name, your counselor, and the school's address before it can be signed. It takes a minute.

The Her Climb Pledge
Every participant in Her Climb commits to showing up with courage, kindness, and respect. These values shape the kind of community we build together.
You agreed to this when you joined. It lives here so it's always easy to find.
To protect focus and foster connection, all Her Climb events, workshops, and summer programs are cell phone–free zones. Phones will be checked in upon entry and returned at the end of each day.
We honor every background, identity, and story. Discrimination, bullying, or exclusion of any kind has no place here.
We encourage honesty, but always with compassion. Listening matters as much as speaking.
We ask every girl to be present, on time, and open-hearted. Participation is how we grow.
Her Climb is not a race. We rise together, not against each other. Here, success is collective.
Support your sisters. Celebrate their wins. Offer help when you can, and ask for help when you need it.
Showing up is an act of commitment—to yourself and to every girl in this room who is counting on your presence. Her Climb scholars receive a stipend in recognition of their time, full participation, and dedication to the program.
Out of fairness to every scholar in the cohort, unexcused tardiness or absences may result in a stipend deduction, as determined by Her Climb's program leadership. All decisions are made consistently and with care.
In the event of an emergency or extenuating circumstance, families are encouraged to contact Her Climb as soon as possible.
Stipend
Stipends are tied to attendance and participation. Deductions for tardiness and unexcused absences are listed under Policies.

Most importantly, scholars join a community of ambitious girls supporting each other.
Program Policies
Last updated September 17, 2026
All Saturdays currently on the calendar are mandatory. There is no partial-attendance policy. That level of consistency is intentional, and it is tied directly to our growing institutional partnerships, including Stanford University, The Juilliard School, and the USTA.
On-campus Saturday workshops run 1:00–5:00 PM. This is an expansion of the two-hour Saturday sessions originally shared at your orientation on May 30; as the institutional partnerships came together, the time needed to deliver on them grew accordingly.
Sessions will not move earlier in the day at this time.
All session times through 2027 are published on our calendar and in the Calendar tab here.
Summer programming is mandatory. It runs three full weeks in July during your high school years, and specific dates are contingent on each year’s weeks. Please consult our calendar regularly.
Beginning in your rising junior year, we hold our College Hack Week each August, which runs for one week. Specific dates for all of it will be shared directly and posted on our calendar.
Summer programming runs 10:00 AM–3:00 PM.
When an unavoidable conflict comes up, reach out directly to Vanessa Graves, our Program Assistant, as soon as you know about it.
Unexcused absences carry a stipend deduction.
As new partnerships are finalized, we share updates through this portal and our email newsletters.
Newsletters go to the email address currently listed on our listserv — the one provided to us during onboarding. If you would like us to add another address, let us know and we will.
Professor Omokha has shared the standard you are held to, including how tardiness and unexcused absences affect stipend amounts. Life happens: illness, family obligations, the ordinary things that come up. We hold space for that.
As part of holding this standard with care, Professor Omokha will meet individually with each scholar for an annual review going forward. Like the personalized letters she gave each of you on Capstone Day, it carries the same spirit, in conversation.
If we see a pattern of increased tardiness or unexcused absences, we reach out to families directly to discuss what that means for your continued place in the program.
This isn’t a punishment, it’s a standard. Sisterhood requires attendance and engagement, and equity requires consistency; we cannot hold every scholar to the same high bar if we aren’t equally consistent in how we uphold it.
Your parents are welcome to attend this one-on-one discussion. The date is listed on the calendar, and we will follow up with the specific time for your meeting.
What affects your stipend
In effect as of September 13, 2026, for all cohorts. Attendance is taken at every workshop and field trip, and any misconduct is documented. Collective consequences may be implemented where necessary.
Each amount comes off the semester stipend. Each year, in June, your place in the program is assessed based on the above and on your overall performance and engagement.
FERPA authorization is entirely optional. If your family would prefer we not have it on file, we will not contact your school.
Its purpose is to let us swiftly advocate on your behalf when your family specifically requests that support.
Her Climb is not a traditional enrichment program. From day one, we committed to an elite and challenging experience for our scholars, built on four pillars: leadership, access, wellness, and sisterhood.
That experience includes real structure, discipline, and accountability. Sisterhood does not mean the absence of those things; they exist together, by design.
Your experience this summer and throughout this year-round schedule reflects how your subsequent high school years with Her Climb will progress. Cadence during your college years will be discussed as we get there.
Family engagement is an important part of Her Climb, and there are opportunities for it on our calendar. Our family potluck is December 9, and the Halloween Costume Party at Brooklyn Equestrian Center is also open to your family. We will keep building on this as we grow.
Bring any questions or concerns directly to Sakura Amend. We would rather hear from you early than have you wait.
You can also write to us any time from the Messages tab here.
Through our partnership with Rula, you have access to licensed, culturally matched therapists through insurance-covered care. Rula verifies the out-of-pocket cost before a first session, and you can meet with a therapist by live video as soon as tomorrow.
Because you are under 18, your parent or guardian will be contacted when you request this care. You are welcome to look first, and you can talk to us before you do.
Find a therapistWhy this is important
Her Climb’s structure, calendar, and level of commitment reflect deliberate choices made to deliver the experience we promised every scholar and family who join us.
We are being built from the ground up, drawing on the institutional relationships and resources available to you. As Her Climb grows, new partnerships will continue to shape the program.
